$500.00 Grant awarded by The Educational Partnership Foundation to Drumheller Valley Secondary School.

Drumheller Valley Secondary School was awarded $500.00 by The Educational Partnership Foundation. The Citizenship in Action Grant was awarded to Drumheller Valley Secondary School’s Student Council for their work on the Golden Hills School Division Jr. High Leadership Conference taking place on March 30, 2017.

Drumheller Valley Secondary School and Strathmore High School student councils have been working together to plan and organize a one day leadership conference for jr. high students from around our division and area that will take place in the spring at DVSS. Students have come together for leadership training prior to school starting in September, participated in leading team building activities and ice breakers for student leaders at Samuel W. Shaw School in Calgary, AB and will continue to work on their leadership skills in their own schools leading up to the conference. “The compassion that is portrayed by these students to show leadership towards their peers is a gracious action that TEPF is happy to support. The Golden Hills Leadership Conference is an exceptional initiative!” says Din Ladak, President & CEO of TEPF.

Din Ladak and Kevin Strybosch from TEPF presented Drumheller Valley Secondary School Student Council with the award. Curtis LaPierre principal of Drumheller Valley Secondary School, Cindy Sereda teacher and student council advisor along with DVSS student council members were on hand to accept the generous contribution towards their leadership initiatives and citizenship.
