School is back in full swing and Golden Hills schools have gotten off to a strong start! The Board of Trustees is proud to recognize continued growth in the Division and welcomes all the new families joining the Golden Hills community. The opening of the much anticipated George Freeman School has helped accommodate student growth, and the proud partnership between the Division, Wheatland County and the Town of Strathmore on the Strathmore Motor Sportsplex will support the expansion and development of recreation services to our communities and our school.
During September’s Board meeting, the Board discussed ongoing work at the school level for our facilities and the continued efforts to improve student learning environments. Recognizing the educational value of travel and cultural experiences, the Board at Golden Hills School Division continues to work with parents every year to support international travel opportunities for students. The Board also enthusiastically approved the 2019 Strathmore High School Ecuador Trip and updates to the 2019 Drumheller Valley Secondary School Europe Trip.
Furthermore, this year, the Board is excited to introduce a revamped Board webpage, which includes biographies of each of our Trustees and a ‘Board Meeting News’ feature! This news release will be the central hub for updates on Board announcements, meetings and activities.
The Board looks forward to an exciting year full of learning opportunities and great memories. If you have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss with our Trustees, please do not hesitate to contact us! Our email addresses are provided with the bios. We are always happy to connect with parents and community members.
We want to wish all Golden Hills families and our staff a fantastic 2018/19 school year!
