Associate Superintendent (Learning Services)

Golden Hills School Division, a high performing, progressive and growing school division employing approximately 450 teachers and 390 support staff, is seeking a dynamic and innovative Associate Superintendent (Learning Services). The Division Office is located in Strathmore, AB approximately 20 minutes east of Calgary on the Trans-Canada highway.

This position commences August 15, 2025. The Associate Superintendent reports to the Superintendent of Schools and will provide administrative leadership within the following main areas: Learning Services, Student Support Services as well as serving as School Liaison for a number of schools.    

The ideal candidate must have the following: 

  • A master’s degree in an appropriate education field
  • Membership, or eligibility for membership, with College of Alberta School Superintendents
  • Minimum of 5–10 years educational leadership in a public education system along with successful teaching and school leadership experience

  • Effective leadership with the ability to actualize the vision, mission and values of the division within the resources available
  • Strong advocacy for all students and public education
  • Ability to be innovative helping to meet the needs of all learners in our division
  • Proven skill and experience with respect to collaborative leadership, teamwork and positive working relationships with partner groups and stakeholders
  • Ability to build system wide capacity in curriculum, instruction, assessment and social emotional learning
  • Ability to build an effective team and lead staff in collaborative inquiry processes and professional learning
  • Proven experience and ability with analytical, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively handle a wide range of competing tasks and priorities with a demonstrated commitment to excellent service delivery to all students
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage multiple budgets
  • Ability to support a diverse workplace and educational environment
  • Demonstrated dispute resolution and mediation skills
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to design and deliver small group training and professional development sessions
