Explore, Engage, Experience
Dual credit provides high school students with the opportunity to explore post-secondary education and career pathways while earning credits at both the high school and post-secondary institution levels. Dual credit studies are designed primarily for grade 11 and 12 students. Golden Hills School Division pays post-secondary tuition fees and has partnerships with a variety of post-secondary institutions. Those who are interested in exploring dual credit opportunities should contact their high school career counsellor or principal.
Dual credit opportunities help students to:
- experience post-secondary education while still in high school.
- learn and practice skills such as organization, time management and communication that are relevant beyond high school.
- transition to post-secondary studies or move into the world of work.
- affordably complete post-secondary courses supporting the career pathway of their choice.
Students must be able to successfully accommodate dual credit courses into their current school and extra-curricular schedules.
