Green Certificate
This apprenticeship-like program provides students interested in agricultural careers with hands-on learning, mentored by experienced farm professionals. Students earn high school credits and an industry-recognized Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Level 1 Green Certificate in their chosen specialization.

Below, you will find some of the requirements for the Green Certificate:
- Connect with your high school career counsellor or principal to express your interest and to learn more about the opportunity.
- Determine your area of interest.
- Areas of Specialization can be found here: Green Certificate Areas of Specialization.
- Complete HCS3000 (Workplace Safety).
- Complete AGR3000 (Agriculture Workplace Safety).
- Work with your high school to initiate and complete the Green Certificate.
Who is a great fit for the Green Certificate?
Students who:
- are interested in a career in agriculture.
- are at least 15 years old.
- have support at the school and family level.
- desire to be involved in agriculture-related work activities. (This may be their family farm.)
- are able to manage their high school courses alongside the requirements for the Green Certificate.
